Q: How do I know which therapy is right for me?
Q: What if I can’t keep my appointment?
A: Please contact Anna on 07949 354 166 to cancel your appointment at least 24 hours before you are expected or a charge will still apply. This allows for the time slot to be filled by someone else.
Q: How many treatments are usual?
A: Generally when coming for Swedish or Thai Yoga Massage a regular weekly, fornightly, monthly or even one-off appointment may be sufficient. For treatment of more specific problems such as sports injuries a course of six to eight weekly or fortnightly treatments is recommended.
Q: Do you offer discounts on treatments?
A: I don't offer regular discounts on treatments, however, please see my Offers Page for my permanent and limited special offers. At the moment I am teamed up with another therapist to offer a great deal on pampering evenings for you and a friend.
For clients who make regular bookings I offer each fifth session half-price.
Q: How do I find the Newlands Park Natural Health Centre?
A: The centre is located in Sydenham, South East London and is based in Newlands Park, a few minutes' walk from Sydenham train station. Simply turn left onto the high street, cross the road and continue walking until you come to Newlands Park on your right. The centre is in a large house, two minutes down this road.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: Currently I accept payment only by cash or cheque.
Q: What did a degree in Remedial Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy involve?
A: As well as learning the physical application of all the therapies I qualified in, my degree also involved learning a great deal of the anatomy and physiology of the human body, and this learning was built on each year for the three year peiod the degree runs for. Specific learning in this area included Integrated Phyysiology, Pathophysiology and Differential Diagnosis. The degree course also involoved many hours of practitionner development training and interpersonal skills, which also ran consistently throughout the course. On top of these core elements there were numerous optional modules offering taster lessons in other, related therapies. These gave me the opportunity to broaden my knowledge and understanding of Bodywork therapies, and to bring different ways of working and new perspective to the therapies I practise.
Q: How does your corporate Massage work?
A: My corporate/office Massage can work however the company would like it to. The treatments can be provided using a Massage couch, chair, or simply at employees' desks. All necessary equipment, towels and oils are provided by me, and the company can choose the length of treatments, where and when they would like them to take place. This is usually paid for by the company at a rate of £30 per hour (decreasing to £25 after 4 hours), however, if the company can guarantee an agreed number of clients per week then it can be arranged for staff members to pay for their own treatments.
Q: How can this benefit my employees and my business?
A: Many companies now choose to bring Massage therapists into the workplace to work with office staff. Muscular tension often builds up when working for many hours at a desk or computer. This tension usually develops around the upper back, neck, shoulders, lower back, wrists and arms and can often result in painful conditions such as RSI, and general back pain/poor mobility. Receiving regular Massage can greatly help to relieve these symptoms, resulting in employees being happier at work, and reducing the number of sick days taken. Office Massage also helps to reduce the stress experienced at high-pressure offices, allowing employees to focus properly on tasks and resulting in greater productivity. Employing a Massage therapist also demonstrates the company's dedication to its staff and their wellbeing, helping to motivate employees and creating a and more loyal and comfortable environment.
Q: How are our treatments diffrent from other Massage therapists'?
A: My treatments are all tailored specifically to the individual client. With a wide range of bodywork techniques I can help people to understand the benefits of different forms of Massage to them, and together we can formulate the most effective treatment plan for their specific wants and needs. I don't necessarily stick to one form of therapy in a session, but am able to use all my knowledge and skills to create a treatment using a mixture of techniques which will have the most benefit for the individual client, whilst meeting the goals they have set for their therapy plan.
